Hello everyone, my name is Chi. I just finished presenting for a workshop about internet safety.
I am here to summarize that workshop. We firstly focused on cyberbullying. That means people who use social media with inflammatory intentions. They post pictures, text posts, and the likes to harm others.
Secondly, to be mindful before we post something on social media. Was the post intended to inform others or to express your feeling? For example, if you typed a message wishing a specific person to die, does that mean you really want to kill that person, or were you venting and not literally meant what you said??
Thirdly, posting pictures. If you were posting pictures with someone else in the image, it is important to ask them for their permission before posting their picture on the internet.
Fourthly, sharing accounts. Imagine if you set up a bank account, is it ok to share your username and password to other people like your friends and family? You will never know if they leak your login information then someone ends up stealing your money. You must think carefully about sharing your account!
Lastly, password security. It is important to have a good and strong password to prevent your account from being compromised easily. Does your password have a long character length, a mixture of upper/lower cases, and numberings?
I hope you enjoyed watching the workshop.
If you missed the workshop, please reach out to DEAF Inc., and we will host the workshop again!
