D.E.A.F., Inc. offers Continuing Education classes to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community in a variety of subject areas. Classes are taught in American Sign Language by Deaf instructors.

 

American Sign Language (ASL):

ASL for Deaf and Hard of Hearing adults

This class will be easy paced, fun-filled, with lots of review. Direct Method/Language Immersion Approaches will be used, along with structured dialogues within situational contexts. Group supported field trips to Deaf events amy be made fo further reinforcement.

ASL for Hearing Adults

This class will be easy paced, fun-filled, with lots of review. Direct Method/Language Immersion Approaches will be used, along with structured dialogues within situational contexts. Group supported field trips to Deaf events amy be made fo further reinforcement.

**Each class will use the 3Signing Naturally2 Curriculum book from Dawn Sign Press. The ASL 1 and ASL 2 classes will be using 3Signing Naturally2 Level 1. The ASL 3 class will be using 3Signing Naturally2 Level 2, and the ASL 4 & ASL 5 classes will be using 3Signing Naturally2 Level 3. Students will go over particular chapters that are related to each ASL level, and students will learn through reading and practice exercises in the book to gain knowledge of American Sign Language. Each student is responsible for buying his or her own textbook in addition to the tuition cost. Places to locate books; Harris Communications and Northeastern University Book store.

10 Week Classes: $200 tuition for all, text book not included.

Mondays, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
American Sign Language, Level II:
Tuesdays, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
American Sign Language, Level III:
Wednesdays, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
American Sign Language Level IV;
Thursdays, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
