Volunteer Needed ASAP for Project HOPE Department (Boston Office) Project HOPE offers free, ASL-based health support and health education services for Deaf, DeafBlind, Hard of Hearing and Late-Deafened people in Massachusetts. We are a small department with a lot of projects going on, and we need a committed volunteer to help us implement and complete these projects. Volunteers are needed for about 10 hours every week to help with the following: • Health Fair planning and execution (workshop development, PR, donation requests, etc.) • Translating ASL vlogs into English (subtitling) • Assisting with pushing out monthly event newsletters • Assisting with implementing ASL-based CPR/First Aid course Ideally, volunteers have at least basic conversational ASL skills, experience with Microsoft Office programs, and can commit through May (or at least until the Health Fair has passed). Our staff are friendly, flexible, and willing to accommodate your school/work schedule. We urge anyone with interest in Deaf health to volunteer with us, including Deaf, DeafBlind, Hard of Hearing and Late-Deafened people, ASL/ITP students, and community members with signing abilities. DEAF, Inc. is a wonderful grassroots organization with strong potential for personal growth and ASL skills development. DEAF, Inc. is located at 215 Brighton Avenue in Allston, and is accessible via bus and the green line (B train).
