Under the supervision of Director of Independent Living Services, Assistant Director of Independent Living Services will be responsible for assisting in coordinating the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Independent Living Programs and Services in Greater Boston, Northshore/NorthEast, SouthEast/NewBedford/CapeCod regions for the purpose of improving the ability of Deaf and Hard of Hearing people to live independently and function fully in their family and within the community of their choice. Duties: · Assist with supervision of all IL staff members and contracted workers in all IL offices, including visits to regional offices for supervision and support. · Assists with recruitment, screening, interview and selection of new staff members. · Assist Regional Directors and Director IL with evaluating program staff in accordance with personnel policies. · Coordinates and oversees outreach services to promote public awareness of the services provided by the IL Program. · Oversees the progress of consumers by reviewing Independent Living Service Plans, consumer files, goals, outcomes, to ensure information up to date and accurate. · Assist Director IL with implementation and ongoing development of standardized effective documentation practices and procedures, including database development/revision, excel forms and word documents · Review and monitor program quality assurance including annual community survey, monthly/weekly consumer satisfaction survey and workshop feedbacks. · Provide, as needed, direct services to Deaf and Hard of Hearing consumers. · Write reports and collect essential data as required. · Attends community and staff meetings, events and trainings as required · Assist Director IL in monitoring and evaluating program effectiveness. · Act as Administrator on Duty on a rotation basis. · Works with Director IL on monitoring program budgets and coordinating with Regional Directors on program spending plans and revising as needed. · Assist Director IL in assessing in-services training needs of staff, developing and implementing staff development programs, planning overall IL Services on a short-term and long-term basis, · Providing training for New IL staffs according to IL specialist training manual · Trains new agency staff in assistive technology using AT training handbooks “Ins and Outs of Assistive Technology” · Other duties as assigned by Director IL.
